This is the first backpack blower I have had. It’s a whole new level from the handhelds I’ve used for decades.
The big motor starts in just a few pulls, but with no compression release they are hard pulls, and you must have it on the ground holding it down with your left hand and doing the pulling with your right. With a half tank of fuel it weighs 28 pounds.
Not much if you’re an army ranger, but for us normal folks I find it’s necessary to put it on the tailgate or table while it’s idling where are you can safely lift it on to your back. Don’t turn it off because you can’t restart it on your back.

Now the fun begins. This is a bad boy. Don’t bother with a small area because it will only take seconds & be clumsy. Keep your handheld blower for the deck or garage. But this will clear hundreds of feet of driveway and yard at a brisk pace. Clear out around a couple neighbors houses because you don’t feel like stopping yet. I haven’t used the lawn tractor to clear the yard nearly as much because this is both faster & easier. It is bigger than it looks. Over 5 feet from the back of the engine to the end of the tube. It takes a large table or floor space for storage. Spend the money for an oil meeting the higher specification’s in the instructions. The almost 80 cc engine revs high & requires more fuel than you might think. I’m filling up every other session. With Echo reliability, and a five year homeowner warranty, I expect it to last a long time.

This blower is next level!! It blows!!! I have a lot of trees, so a lot of leaves .. and this blowers handled them with ease! If you are on the fence about purchasing this blower, don’t be, you won’t regret your purchase!! We love this blower!!!!!!

Works really well for people with lots and lots of leaves like me. Only bad thing is it’s a gas hog. Easy staring cold or hot.
